the details

  • What are the venue details?
All wedding events will take place at the White Raven Retreat in Alberton, Montana. The venue's address is 218 Lost Lantern Trail, Alberton, MT 59820. The nearest big city is Missoula, Montana. Please see the "Travel & Lodging" tab for more information!
  • What is the schedule? What are the weekend events?
All are welcome to the following events! Friday, June 14 at 6:00PM Welcome Dinner at White Raven. Woodfired pizzas, salads, desserts with wine + beer! Come say hello for a little or a long time. We can't wait to see you! Saturday, June 15 at 4:00PM Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00PM at White Raven. Happy hour, dinner, drinks, and dancing to follow – all on the same property! Sunday, June 16 at 11:00AM Please join us for a casual brunch and bye-for-now! Stop by for a little or a long time. We're so glad you could join us.
  • What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
Please arrive no later than 3:30 PM in preparation for our ceremony, which begins promptly at 4:00 PM. Champagne and water will be provided before the festivities begin.
  • What is the dress code for the wedding day?
The dress code for our wedding on Saturday is semi-formal: suits & ties, and mid- or floor-length dresses are most appropriate. Please no jeans, khakis, caps/hats, or otherwise casual clothing. The venue has beautiful surrounding mountain and garden scenery. As such, we suggest choosing clothing in spring tones, avoiding neon colors. The ceremony and a large portion of the property is grassy & gardened. Happy hour, dinner, dancing, and drinks will all be on hard floor. Keep this in mind when selecting your footwear! If you prefer a lift, we suggest choosing block heels to avoid sinking into the grass.
  • What is the dress code for events on Friday and Sunday?
The dress code for the welcome dinner on Friday and brunch on Sunday is nice-casual; informal but polished, like a button down sans tie or a nice sundress. Our photographer Oli will be with us all weekend to capture memories with our friends and family, and we encourage you to wear what you won't mind being photographed in!
  • What should we expect the weather to be like?
Montana in the springtime is usually quite comfortable. For June in Montana, highs are typically 70's–80's, and lows are mid-50's. While rain can occur during June, it typically moves in and out quickly. We plan for a majority of our wedding to occur outside – dinner will be indoors, while the ceremony, happy hour, and dancing are currently planned for outdoors. We suggest watching the weather and preparing accordingly if you'll need a jacket or shawl to match your 'fit!
  • Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Weather permitting, we plan for a majority of our wedding to occur outdoors. The ceremony will be outdoors without cover, happy hour will be outdoors with some cover available, dinner will be indoors, and dancing will be outdoors.
  • Is transportation provided on the day of the wedding?
Due to the remoteness of the venue and the wide area of accommodations for our guests, we are only able to provide limited transportation services to and from the venue on our wedding day. Please indicate in your RSVP if transportation is needed – though please note, availability is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. This transportation will operate as follows: – Pick-up will begin on June 15 at 2:30 PM in front of the Staybridge Suites Missoula (which shares a parking lot with several other hotels), then the Hilton Garden Inn, and afterward at C'mon Inn, both in Missoula. If you have arranged to be a part of the transportation list (must be indicated at the point of RSVP), please be punctual at either of these locations so pickup can happen smoothly and efficiently. – Drop off at the venue will be approximately 3:30 PM. Water & champagne will be provided upon arrival. – Pick-up at the venue for return to your accommodations following the event will occur in two shifts. The first will be at 9:30 PM, and the second will be at 11:00 PM. – Each drop off will go to each of the locations where pickup occurred earlier in the day. While rideshare services like Uber and private taxi services are available in the area, they are much more limited than in larger cities and rides can become expensive. We strongly suggest arranging for a designated driver, car service, or other similar arrangement. If you have further questions or need help connecting with a carpool, please reach out to Tori at 908-442-3936. We are unable to provide any further transportation services outside of the wedding day. For any questions regarding parking, please see the next question!
  • What is the parking situation? Can I park my car at the venue? How about overnight?
There is plenty of parking available at our venue for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday's events. If you opt to drive to the venue and arrange a taxi service or Uber/Lyft to return to your hotel, you are also welcome to leave your car at the venue overnight. It is extremely important to us that all of our guests arrive and return to their accommodations safely. We would much rather you leave your vehicle at the venue site and arrange for separate transportation the night of and the next morning than put yourself or others at risk. If you have any issues at all with this coordination, please do not hesitate to reach out to us (call or text 908-442-3936) and we will do all we can to help. All vehicles must park in the designated parking lots only. This means no parking along the road, along the passing bump-outs, in the fields, etcetera. All trailers and large trucks are required to park in the lower parking lot. No RVs are permitted on the venue's property.
  • Can I take pictures of the wedding to post online?
We will appreciate your full presence at our wedding and ask that guests please use their phones sparingly during our event. We have an incredible photographer who we trust fully to capture the magic of the entire weekend, and we are happy to share these photos with you. Our ceremony is "unplugged" and we ask your cooperation with no photos or phone use during the ceremony.
  • Are kids welcome to attend?
We are excited to celebrate with all of our loved ones, and that includes the kiddos in our lives! Children must be supervised at all times. For safety reasons, please do not leave children unattended in rooms or allow them to roam the property unsupervised – steep cliffs, open water, wildlife, and open fire pits are all hazards to be aware of on the venue's property.
  • Is there a hotel block?
As we have friends choosing all types of accommodations across both Alberton and Missoula, we have opted out of a hotel block. Please visit the "Travel + Lodging" tab for some suggestions.
  • Is smoking/vaping permitted?
The venue itself is 100% smoke-free, including cigarettes, cigars, and vaping devices. There is a designated smoking area provided outside and away from the building (in the main parking lot or by the fire-pit.)
  • Are sparklers, fireworks, or paper lanterns permitted? That's fun, right?
All of the above are prohibited due to the surrounding wildlife and potential risk of wildfire. We love a good sparkler, but please do not bring any of these items with you.
  • Do you have a registry?
Your presence at our wedding is a tremendous gift to us. If you are looking for our registry, it can be found here: www.zola.com/registry/thesopps2024
